Im Sommer waren es noch unzähige Zelte am Strand direkt an der Burg. Mittlerweile ist der Zustrom der Flüchtlinge, die über die Ägäis mit Schlauchboten nach Kos kommen, weiter abgeflaut. Wie sieht es aktuell auf Kos aus?

Zur Zeit kommen nur noch sehr wenige Flüchtlinge auf der Insel Kos an. An manchen Tagen nur noch im einstelligen Bereich. Allerdings soll das auf anderen Inseln im Dodekanes aktuell wieder etwas anders aussehen.

Die Zelte an der Burg werden nach und nach abgebaut. Auch sonst sieht man keinerlei Zelte mehr an den Straßenrändern. Das war im Sommer anders. An fast allen Straßen um die Burg herum und Richtung Psalidi lagerten die Flüchtlinge in ihren Zelten.

Viele Flüchtlinge sind jetzt auch in den leeren Hotels untergekommen. Allerdings meines Wissens nach nur auf eigene Kosten.

Zur Zeit liegt auch ein finnisches Polizeiboot in der Marina. Wie mir ein Hafenpolizist erzählte, bekommt die Küstenwache jetzt Unterstützung von Frontex. Für 3 Monate ist der Hilfseinsatz geplant.

Neueste Info: Angeblich soll die Hafenpolizei wieder Geld aus Athen bekommen haben, so das die Kosten für die Unterbringung nicht mehr von den Flüchtlingen zu tragen sind.
